My task was to make a machine in CAD system SolidWorks. I chose the excavator you can see on a picture below:

Before i could start modelling i had to take some shots of it and i had to draw at least a ruff sketch with basic dimensions. The dimensions i forgot to check, I simply counted it from photos...
When i had all needed references i started modeling proces. It was a big deal for me because i've never used SolidWorks before, so i had to go through all the training lessons find out the real phylosophy ot the program. Only i can say about these lessons is that they are simply cool. When you finish them you are ready for doing anythink in SW. To be hones i had some experiences with similar program Autodesk Inventor, so i wasn't a greenhorn in 3D.
After few months i finished modeling. So here you can see the render from SolidWorks 2008

I would like to thank to company Top-tech s.r.o. which borrowed me SolidWorks 2008 for perion of time when i did my project

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-04-09T17:55:22Z</dcterms:modified>

3ds Max Certificate project

Today, during our CAD lessons in school we've received a task from our teacher. We have to make some scene - free theme, to show him how can we handle with 3ds Max and maybe to get a certificate. I decided to make a model of airplane from WWII - Bf 109.
Because i had not enough time for texturing, i borrowed some texture from my favourite PC game - Il 2 Sturmovik .
There was one big problem when i rendered the scene. there was no sign of motion. It was just a very plane picture without any mood. So i've started exploring 3ds Max forums such as cgtalk.com or Maxarea.com for making of the motion blur effects. I found one very nice sollution. In object propetries i set object motion blur option, in effects i had to switch on this effect and then i set modified some values in rednering dialog and voala the rotating propeller is here.
For lightning i used one skylight for global ilumination and one direct spot as sun. I had to exlude the backgound from the direct's light ilumination, and specialy for it i mad one Omni light which affects only background.
Finally the camera effects as motion blur of whole image. I think it makes the picture more realistic.
you can see the picture here:

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-04-09T17:17:39Z</dcterms:modified>
